7 Steps for Polishing up Your Lash Sets
Do you judge how even/complete your set is by the top view? Does it ever happen that the set seems to have the most perfect and consistent coverage and then, your client opens their eyes, and whoops…. some inconsistencies jump out at you?
So how do you prevent that? If you aren’t using a lashing mirror, you might be missing out on the opportunity to deliver the absolute best final result.
Using a lashing mirror throughout and especially towards the end of an appointment reveals the imperfections and gaps that you often cannot see from the artist’s top view.
We all love a perfectly swooped bird’s eye view of our masterpiece, but let’s keep in mind that the view that matters the most is your client’s.
𝗣𝗥𝗢 𝗧𝗜𝗣: Spend the last 30 or so minutes of your appointments continuously working with your mirror. Spotting imperfections early enough allows you to perfect your set before finishing up.
Follow these steps to polish up your sets:
- Thoroughly brush through the lashes.
- Pull your lashing mirror up and position it at an angle where you can see as far down the lashes as you can, as close to the base of the lash line as possible.
- Use your volume tweezer to pinpoint any inconsistencies that need fixing or gaps that need filling that you spot in the mirror.
- Put your mirror down and allow your isolation tweezer to now take the place of the volume tweezer.
- If there are direction/layering issues or unwanted texture, remove the lashes that are causing it and replace them. If there is a noticeable gap, add some fans and consider using larger and/or finer-diameter fans in that area to create more density.
- Brush through the lashes once more, grab your mirror & look for the next spot to perfect.
- Watch your client’s jaw go 𝙗 𝙤 𝙤 𝙢 when they finally open their eyes
